Rolltop computer desk – A rolltop desk has an old fashioned design with a flexible cover those folds in place to cover the table, closing the lid on a large hidden compartment. Today, rolltops may be less suitable for large items such as desktop computers, or if you no longer have the structural integrity to support themselves. Modernize an old desk by removing the roller cover. Clean the surface of your desk, both inside the roll top and at the top of the table. Close all drawers and roll on the upper roll most of the way. Leave an open in the bottom of the desktop space, supporting slightly open using corks placing them in the right and left of the top roller between the lower lip and the table sides. This will leave room to operate the blade without damaging the desktop.
Cut a vertical strip of material from the center roll top panel with the saw. Make this strip of about 10 centimeters wide. Cut the bottom up, stopping about 2 inches shy of the upper lip of the table sawing through and remove the strip. Breaking the remaining strips of wood, including the thicker strip at the end, from the top of the rolltop computer desk.

Tap the center of each board with a hammer to break it. Repeat until each table breaks and crouches in the center. If possible, attack again and try to get the pieces of broken wood to separate from each other. Pull the remaining side portions of the top roller tracks left and right. If they resist, carefully hit the tips rolltop computer desk with the hammer, taking care not to hit the rest of the structure of the table.
